HOW CATARACT IS TREATED?

Cataract is treated surgically in which we removes of the opacified natural lens from its bag and implanting of synthetic intraocular lens that replaces the natural lens and helps to improve vision

Cataract surgery is the most frequent operation carried out in ophthalmology and is one of the safest procedures.

It is done in 5 to 10 minutes and usually under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure (meaning you will be able to go to your home within hour of surgery)

Under special circumstances as in childhood cataract, surgery is done under general anesthesia

HOW CATARACT EXTRACTION SURGERY IS PERFORMED?

Cataract operation is very quick and painless, effective and with a very little risk.

It is done through a tiny self-healing incision without any sutures by Phacoemulsification technique, in which opacified lens material are being disintegrated in very tiny pieces suctioned out the eye.

Surgery ends with implantation of foldable intraocular lens that provided better vision

Removing cataracts with a femtosecond laser
(Femto cataract)

The use of femtolaser to remove cataracts adds more accuracy in the formation of the operation wounds and the possibility of reducing corneal astigmatism by laser with the implantation of lenses
