Biography
Dr. Hesham Gharieb graduated from Ain Shams University in Egypt, one of the most prestigious universities in the Middle East, with an overall grade of Excellent with Honors. He ranked at the top of his class among his peers.
Professor Dr. Hesham Gharieb is considered one of the leading ophthalmologists and eye surgeons in Egypt and the Arab world. With many years of medical and academic experience, he is distinguished by his precision, dedication, and continuous advancement in the field of ophthalmology—particularly in corneal surgery, cataract and glaucoma treatment, and vision correction procedures.
Dr. Hesham holds the position of Professor of Ophthalmology at Ain Shams University, one of the most prestigious medical and academic institutions in the Middle East. This role has provided him with a strong academic foundation and scientific expertise grounded in research, education, and advanced clinical practice
He has earned numerous respected international certifications in the field, including the Fellowship of the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO), based in Geneva, Switzerland, where he was recognized as one of the top rising ophthalmologists. He later obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Glasgow, United Kingdom
He is currently a Professor of Ophthalmology and Eye Surgery at Ain Shams University Hospitals. He also serves as the head of research and development department at one of the leading specialized eye hospitals — Eye World Hospital-Giza Egypt.
